Synopsis

This time it is Tails’ turn to be the hero. It starts with a rescue – Scratch and Grounder dust stunt pilot William Le Duck with sleeping powder in mid-air, and Tails flies up to land his plane – but when Tails turns round to introduce his new friend, Sonic has vanished.
Le Duck and Professor Von Schlemmer join the search, and the professor’s Sonic Sonar leads them to an empty patch of jungle where Sonic can be heard but not seen. He tells them to wait for dark, and at nightfall the Temple of Komometz materialises: Robotnik has paid its ruler, King Kommamachs, to keep Sonic locked inside.
Pilot and professor lose their nerve at the door, so Tails goes in alone, through a maze of giant bats and straight into the robots’ hands. Le Duck follows after all, the two break free, find Sonic in chains and saw him loose, and Sonic tells the king that Robotnik paid him in fake money – so the king curses the doctor instead.
