Synopsis

To lure Sonic into a trap, Robotnik threatens a porcupine orphanage: pay ten thousand Mobiums by tomorrow or be shut down. The only way to raise that much is to win the Mobius 5000, a race around the planet – where the doctor’s team of professional Race Bots is waiting to finish Sonic off.
Tails has just hustled a cheating billiards shark named Bruno out of two dozen chili dogs when the porcupine who runs the orphanage asks for help. Professor Caninestein supplies blueprints for an all-terrain racer that should take months to build; Sonic has it ready in seconds.
On race day the Race Bots throw thumbtacks, a stinger, an avalanche and a bath of toxic chemicals at the heroes, and one by one they wreck themselves. Even Scratch and Grounder help by mistake, digging the car out of the snow out of jealousy and accidentally installing Grounder as its engine. Sonic takes the prize, and the orphans flatten Robotnik under his own finish-line wall.
