Synopsis

Robotnik, Scratch and Grounder arrive in medieval Mobius, home of the second emerald. A threat is enough to make the wizard Merlynx hand over the Emerald of Invincibility, but when the robots test it with lasers, Robotnik gets fried: the gem only works for whoever rules the Hound Table.
In the present day, Sonic is chatting up a girl who seems to be buried to the neck in beach sand when Professor Caninestein arrives – and the girl turns out to be an octopus. Sonic sets off for the past once more.
Robotnik takes over King Arfur’s throne and has Merlynx turn Sonic’s boots to stone. Clad in blue armour, Sonic has to beat the doctor in a jousting tournament; he wins, is knighted by the dog king, and drives Robotnik on to the next era.
