Synopsis

Robotnik’s Super Shrink Ray is finally working, and the plan is simple: shrink whole towns, keep them under a plastic dome and make their pocket-sized citizens dig up Mobius’ resources for him to enlarge. Next on the list is Mole Mountain, where foreman McMole has asked Sonic to fire up his mole miners – and Tails has handed out spiky blue Sonic hard hats and hi-tops to help.
One zap later the mountain, the moles and both heroes are bug-sized and under the dome. The miners spin-attack a hole through the plastic, but the ray, only a few feet away, is now a long trek across the lab. Sonic and Tails tangle with a spider, Grounder’s pet lizard and a vacuum cleaner before Robotnik makes them surrender and corks them in a glass jar beside his pet rat.
The moles come to the rescue, Sonic talks Scratch into uncorking the jar, and when the miners sink their teeth into Robotnik’s leg, Sonic has a brainwave: he climbs into Scratch’s head, Tails into Grounder’s, and the robots’ mind-control override puts them in charge. The robots reverse the ray, everyone returns to full size – and the doctor gets shrunk for a change.
