Synopsis

Fleeing a lion in a Roman arena – where Caesar turns out to be Robotnik’s ancestor, Julius Robotnikus, who gives them a thumbs-down – Robotnik and his robots escape to Ancient Mobigypt.
On the beach, Professor Caninestein warns Sonic that Robotnik is meddling with his family tree, and sends him back with a new invention, the Time Warp Boogie Board. Robotnik has declared himself pharaoh and plans to stop Sonic’s ancestor Masonic from ever meeting Penelope, so that Sonic will never be born.
Sonic makes sure the couple meet, races Robotnik by chariot, and then dives into the crypt of the doctor’s mummified ancestor for the Emerald of Immortality, before packing Robotnik off through time once again.
