Magnificent Sonic is episode 47 of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog in production order (production code 238-147), the order used by the DVDs, WildBrain’s official uploads and our episode guide. It was the 24th episode to air in the 1993 syndicated run, on 7 October 1993. It was written by Jeffrey Scott and directed by Kent Butterworth.
Synopsis

Tranquil Gulch needs a sheriff. Six-Gun Pete, an outlaw robot of Robotnik’s, has run the last one out of town, and when he bursts into the saloon where Sonic and Tails are enjoying chili dogs and root beer, Sonic tricks him into blasting himself headless.
Mayor Chestnut offers Sonic the badge and, after some persuading, he pins it on, though the townsfolk soon learn their new lawman could not hit a barn. Robotnik, who regards the town as his and dreams of turning it into a gambling empire called Gambler’s Gulch, sends Scratch and Grounder to deal with him. Sonic swaps the duel for a hand of poker in which the losers pay in body parts, and wins until the robots have nothing left to bet.
Their revenge – the saloon’s Miss Possum in a runaway stagecoach – fails too. So the doctor rides in with his Despicable Desperados and a pair of hedgehog-homing six-shooters, with Tails tied to the railway tracks as the stakes. Sonic faces him in a borrowed poncho with a mirror underneath, and the doctor’s own shots blow him into an outhouse.
