Synopsis

One wrecked Egg-O-Matic too many, and Coconuts is fired – literally, launched out of the fortress. Robotnik has no time for him anyway: in the basement sits Big Daddy, a gigantic caged gorilla he means to turn into his weapon for taking over Mobius.
Coconuts lands next to Boom-Boom, an enormous baby ape who decides the monkey must be his dad. A super-strong toddler looks like Coconuts’ ticket back into the doctor’s good books, so he plays daddy and sets up an ambush for Sonic. Sonic and Tails see it coming, and when they tell Boom-Boom the truth, the sobbing infant explains that a bad man carried his real father off in a cage.
That father is Big Daddy, now wearing Robotnik’s mind-control device and hauling a giant laser up Mount Mobius so the whole planet will have to obey. Sonic runs the laser’s batteries flat, Boom-Boom breaks the remote by bashing Robotnik on the ground, and father and son are reunited – with the doctor as the baby’s new rattle.
