Too Tall Tails is episode 15 of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog in production order (production code 238-115), the order used by the DVDs, WildBrain’s official uploads and our episode guide. It was the 22nd episode to air in the 1993 syndicated run, on 5 October 1993. It was written by Rowby Goren and directed by Kent Butterworth.
Synopsis
Robotnik has kidnapped Professor Von Schlemmer and tickled the secret of his growth-gas machine, the Humongo Gizmo, out of him. Meanwhile, Sonic and Tails shake off Coconuts and arrive in Wienerville, where Mayor Knackwurst throws them a feast and Tails eats far more than his share.
When Robotnik tests the Gizmo, it blows up, and a cloud of growth gas drifts over the town just as Tails heads off for dessert. Moments later the little fox is a giant with an appetite to match, chomping and crashing through Wienerville; he walks away to keep from hurting anyone.
Robotnik swoops in posing as the town’s saviour, blaming Sonic and offering to deal with the monster. Sonic has to rescue Von Schlemmer, get the antidote and shrink Tails back to size before the doctor can strike – and before the townsfolk turn on their friend.
