Synopsis
Knuckles is sulking over the single shard he has found and his failure as a guardian, until another vision – Tikal watching the shrine burn – shakes him out of it. He takes the pieces he has to Angel Island, and a further glimpse of the past shows Tikal learning that the Master Emerald can control all seven Chaos Emeralds.
Chris and Big finally fish Froggy out of the water, only for E-102 Gamma to snatch him and fly off to the Egg Carrier, so the two stow away aboard. Eggman takes the frog, dismisses the rest of the E-100 team and orders Gamma to fetch Lily.
Down in the dungeon, Amy pleads with Gamma to be kind, and after watching his brother Beta being taken apart, the robot’s systems overload: he shoots open the bars and lets Amy and Lily go. Sonic and Tails, with Knuckles picked up on the way, chase the Egg Carrier in the X-Tornado – and, having no wheels in battle mode, crash-land on its deck.
