Synopsis

Scratch and Grounder pick a fight with the wrong old crane. Kwai Chang Crane, a flute-playing martial-arts master, flattens both of them without trying – and Robotnik, watching on a hidden camera with movie-mad Coconuts, sees an opportunity.
The doctor snatches Crane in his Egg-O-Matic, flying straight past Sonic and Tails (which makes Sonic suspicious), and runs him through his Crane Brain Drainer to copy his skills into the robots. The new robo-ninjas send the heroes running, and after a second dose – Crane’s philosophy this time – they see through every disguise Sonic tries. Robotnik orders an army of them.
Help comes from Crane’s student Grasshopper, who is searching for his master. Sonic slips into the fortress alone, finds six more robo-ninjas waiting and is saved by luck when Scratch and Grounder’s borrowed powers wear off. With Tails and Grasshopper backing him up they beat the rest, the fortress blows up behind them, and Crane admits he could have freed himself at any time – he just wanted the adventure.
