Momma Robotnik Returns is episode 32 of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog in production order (production code 238-132), the order used by the DVDs, WildBrain’s official uploads and our episode guide. It was the 21st episode to air in the 1993 syndicated run, on 4 October 1993. It was written by Francis Moss and directed by Kent Butterworth.
Synopsis
Momma Robotnik breaks out of her home again, commandeers a milk truck and arrives just in time to watch her son fail to beat Sonic with a fire-breathing car. Disgusted, she disowns him and takes Scratch and Grounder as her new boys instead.
Next, a court summons arrives for Sonic: someone wants to adopt him. Because he is not an adult, his objection is overruled, and the new parent turns out to be Momma Robotnik in disguise. To make sure he behaves, the robots kidnap Tails, and Momma promises to drop the fox into a bottomless pit if Sonic steps out of line.
Sonic spends his days as a hedgehog Cinderella, scrubbing floors for his new “mother” and her robot sons. It takes Robotnik and Coconuts, of all people, to dig up another obscure law that undoes the adoption and sets Sonic free.
