Synopsis

Scratch and Grounder drag MacHopper, a kangaroo and friend of Sonic’s, into Robotnik’s fortress. The doctor wires up his head to a reprogramming machine and hypnotises him into thinking that catching Sonic and Tails is all he lives for.
When Sonic and Tails find their friend in the forest, he does not recognise them, and even asks who this MacHopper fellow is that everyone keeps mistaking him for. He cheerfully offers them a ride on a gizmo he has knocked together, promising a trip to a chili-dog restaurant – and catapults them far away.
The reprogramming was never finished, though: an explosion during a lightning storm stopped Robotnik before he could install the final “get Sonic” command. Sonic gets through to the real MacHopper, and the kangaroo’s new knack for building things helps him and the heroes blast Robotnik’s plans.
