Blast to the Past, Part 2 is episode 5 of Season 2 of Sonic the Hedgehog, the ABC cartoon fans call SatAM, in the order of our original episode guide and the Shout! Factory DVDs. It was the fifth Season 2 episode to air, on 8 October 1994. It was written by Ben Hurst and directed by Ron Myrick.
Synopsis
Robotnik’s coup is under way, and Sonic and Sally have only made things worse. Their younger selves are prisoners, the Destroyer is heading for the Great Forest where Knothole will one day stand, and Robotnik is rounding up dragons to roboticize, Dulcy’s mother Sabina among them.
Using a Power Ring and Sonic’s anti-gravity sneakers, the pair launch themselves onto the Destroyer’s deck to scramble its main computer. They steal the Roboticizer plans, stop the Destroyer from poisoning the forest and rescue little Sonic, little Sally and Sabina.
History still won’t bend. Uncle Chuck is roboticized and the King is banished to the Void, and with Robotnik at the door of their hiding place Sonic and Sally use the Time Stones to escape home. Sonic calls the trip a bust, but Sally reminds him that they brought back the original Roboticizer plans, and that they will keep fighting. Then Tails mentions Rosie, who has apparently always been around…
Sonic and Sally try to stop Robotnik as he begins his takeover. Not only must they stop Robotnik, but they must also save their past selves from being Roboticized, and stop his massive flying fortress from destroying the Great Forest and Knothole Village’s future location. Can they save themselves and their futures?
