Sonic loses his memorySnively’s schemeUncle Chuck
No Brainer is episode 3 of Season 2 of Sonic the Hedgehog, the ABC cartoon fans call SatAM, in the order of our original episode guide and the Shout! Factory DVDs. It was the third Season 2 episode to air, on 24 September 1994. It was written by Pat Allee and directed by Ron Myrick.
Synopsis

Sonic goes alone to stop a batch of prisoners being roboticized and takes a hit from Snively’s Memory Scrambler, which wipes his short-term memory. Spotting a golden opportunity, Snively tells the dazed hedgehog a new life story: Snively is his best pal, and the Freedom Fighters are a band of troublemakers he has been spying on for Snively all along.
Sonic heads back to the Great Forest to find Knothole and send its location to Robotropolis. His friends work out what has happened just in time to warn Tails in the watchtower, and Sally and Uncle Chuck bring Sonic back to himself with a Power Ring. But the coordinates are already on their way, and so are Robotnik’s Stealthbots.
Uncle Chuck recalls the Stealthbots by guessing the password – “Rodent”, Robotnik’s favourite name for Sonic – and the Freedom Fighters give Snively a taste of his own medicine. His memory scrambled, Snively cheerfully attacks Robotnik, then recovers just in time to promise he knows where Knothole is. Chuck has already changed the coordinates, so Robotnik ends up swatting mosquitoes in the Great Swamp.
Sonic is brainwashed by his enemies during a rescue-attempt in Robotropolis. While suffering from memory loss, Snively uses Sonic to find Knothole Village, and captures the Freedom Fighters! Is this the end of Knothole Village?
