De-roboticizerUncle ChuckShriek-Bot
Sonic Conversion is episode 2 of Season 2 of Sonic the Hedgehog, the ABC cartoon fans call SatAM, in the order of our original episode guide and the Shout! Factory DVDs. It was the second Season 2 episode to air, on 17 September 1994. It was written by Ben Hurst & Pat Allee and directed by Ron Myrick.
Synopsis

The Freedom Fighters have built a de-roboticizer, and the first test is a triumph: Bunnie’s metal limbs are flesh again. Sonic doesn’t wait for Sally’s go-ahead. He races into Robotropolis, dodges Robotnik’s new flying Shriek-Bot and brings Uncle Chuck home to be restored.
For a while it is a dream come true. Chuck is himself again, uncle and nephew catch up on everything they have missed, and Chuck helps Rotor improve the machine. Then Bunnie’s limbs turn back to metal, the de-roboticizer blows up, and Chuck reverts too – with Tails and Antoine in his company.
Sonic chases them into the city, wrecks the Shriek-Bot by luring it into a narrow crack in the rocks, and reaches the uncle inside the robot: Chuck wins back his free will on his own. Rather than come home, he chooses to stay in Robotropolis, posing as a Worker-Bot to spy for the Freedom Fighters. Sonic blames his own impatience, but Sally sees the good news. Robots can regain their will, and Knothole now has someone on the inside.
Sonic vows to free Uncle Chuck once and for all. Upon restoring Uncle Chuck’s free will, Chuck, Rotor, and Sally attempt to rebuild a deroboticizer in Knothole. All doesn’t bode well, however, as upon trying to deroboticize Uncle Chuck, he loses his free will. After NICOLE determines this to be a compound hardware failure of the deroboticizer, Sonic sneaks into Robotnik’s roboticizer by pretending to surrender, so he can steal the replacement parts. When it works, Sally plans to start deroboticizing all the victims of Robotnik, with Bunnie Rabbot as the second (after Uncle Chuck). Unfortunately, the effects of deroboticization are temporary, and Antoine and Tails are captured by him, and are nearly roboticized themselves. Sonic saves the day, however, by helping him fight to have his free will restored.
