Synopsis
Dark Oak taunts Sonic with an army of troopers, then turns out to be a hologram, leaving Sonic, Amy and Cosmo surrounded by the real thing. Outside, a Metarex fleet under Red Pine closes in and thanks the intruders for gathering the Emeralds, and Eggman bolts for the Crimson Egg, stranding Knuckles in the X-Tornado.
Cosmo opens the cases holding the last two Emeralds, and the fortress ejects its Planet Egg; Red Pine, deciding the base is worthless now, orders it destroyed with everyone inside. Chris, fed up with Eggman, snatches two Emeralds from the Crimson Egg and flies to help. Shadow shoots him down, Rouge lets him fall, and Knuckles catches him.
When Chris throws his Emeralds to Sonic, all seven are together at last, and Super Sonic and Super Shadow clash. Their battle tears open a black hole that swallows the Metarex fleet and Red Pine’s battleship. Shadow spends the last of his power saving the Crimson Egg, the Emeralds vanish into the void, and the Blue Typhoon escapes on the Master Emerald’s power.
