Synopsis
The day after the battle, the crew is busy with repairs, Sonic and Amy think back on Shadow, and Cosmo is quietly planning a surprise party for everyone. Far away, Yellow Zelkova and the Metarex take stock of Red Pine’s defeat, and Zelkova vows to go after Sonic himself.
The Chaotix turn up stranded, their ship broken down since their last delivery, and move aboard while Tails repairs it. Spotting Tails and Cosmo sharing a moment over lunch, Vector decides the young fox needs a love detective. His campaign includes a puppet show starring a knocked-out, face-painted Knuckles, a lights-out ambush, a planted handkerchief and a runaway disco ball.
Knuckles wants revenge for the make-up, and his chase after the Chaotix wrecks the party room just before the guests arrive. Sonic shrugs it off – they don’t need decorations to have fun – and the party goes ahead anyway. At the end of the night Tails tries to tell Cosmo how he feels, can’t find the words, and the two simply watch the stars.
