Synopsis
Three days later, Eggman learns where the last two Chaos Emeralds are hidden: inside a Metarex space fortress, the Metal Plant of the Japanese title. Eggman’s Crimson Egg and Sonic’s Blue Typhoon turn up there at once, and the doctor makes Sonic an offer he has never made before – a truce against their common enemy.
Step one is to shut down the fortress’s defences. Eggman’s half of the bargain is Shadow and Rouge, who teleport inside with Chris tagging along, and Chris finds the control room. That opens the way for the main party in three ships: Sonic and Knuckles in the X-Tornado, Amy with Cosmo, and Eggman with his robot sidekicks.
Hero and villain side by side is a strange sight, and Eggman hasn’t changed that much: he has secretly rigged the heroes’ ships so he can take them over. Sonic reaches the two Emeralds first, with a Planet Egg alongside them – and finds Dark Oak and a whole army of Metarex waiting for him.
