Synopsis

The rocket delivers the heroes to the Space Colony ARK, and Tails hands Sonic a fake yellow Emerald: slipped in among the real ones, it should soak up their energy and blow the Eclipse Cannon apart. Eggman, holding Amy hostage, demands the gem, but he can spot a fake; he seals Sonic in a capsule rigged to explode and fires it into space. Sonic gets back aboard with Chaos Control.
While Sonic squares off against Shadow, Knuckles goes after Rouge for the Master Emerald, and their fight ends with the two on friendlier terms. When Eggman tries to fire the Cannon, it fizzles, and a recording of Gerald Robotnik plays instead: the ARK will crash into Earth within half an hour – his revenge on humanity for Maria.
On Earth, after a string of dead ends, Mr. Stewart and Scarlet Garcia track down a former G.U.N. soldier who tells them, with deep regret, that he was the one who shot Maria – just as men in black arrive to keep Project Shadow buried.
