Synopsis

The news says nobody was hurt on Prison Island, but Chris is missing, and Amy guesses Shadow has taken him to Eggman. In fact he is on the Space Colony ARK, Shadow’s old home in orbit and the site of the Eclipse Cannon. Staring out of a window, Shadow relives the past: Maria Robotnik, Gerald’s granddaughter and his only friend, shot by G.U.N. soldiers as she helped him escape to Earth.
Her last words asked him to do something, and Shadow, unable to remember what, assumes it was revenge. Eggman powers the Cannon with six Emeralds, blasts half the Moon away as a warning, and tells the President that Earth is next unless the world surrenders. Knuckles, still chasing Rouge and the Master Emerald, stumbles on Eggman’s desert pyramid.
To reach the ARK, the X-Tornado needs two Emeralds and the heroes have only one, so Tails builds a weaker replica. Then the pyramid offers a better ride: a rocket hidden inside it, with room for the whole team.
