Synopsis

Sonic is in handcuffs aboard a G.U.N. helicopter, accused of causing havoc on Prison Island. He leaps out, slides to safety on a scrap of metal and spends the day dodging G.U.N. robots through the streets and sewers of Station Square, trying to work out who framed him. The answer is Shadow, who has pledged himself to Eggman for setting him free.
When the two hedgehogs finally meet, Sonic discovers that his double can teleport with Chaos Control using just one Emerald. Shadow vanishes as the police close in – and Sonic surprises everyone by giving himself up, telling Chris they will see each other soon.
Shadow tells Eggman about the Eclipse Cannon, a superweapon that needs all seven Emeralds, and Rouge turns up offering the blue Emerald in return for a place on the team. As Shadow remembers a girl named Maria, Chris and Mr. Tanaka set off by boat for Prison Island in disguise, with Tails and Amy flying overhead.
