Aboard the Egg Carrier, Amy breaks free, flattens Eggman’s sidekicks and sends Sonic and Tails tumbling on top of the doctor, but Eggman still pulls the blue Chaos Emerald from Lily’s necklace. When he sets Gamma on Sonic, Amy won’t let Sonic finish the robot off. Tails flies Amy and Lily home, and Amy vows to find Lily’s family, whom Eggman has captured.

Knuckles collects the last shards and sees Tikal admit that she could not stop her father. Chaos, now holding six Emeralds, is huge, but Sonic and Knuckles bring it down together; chasing the fleeing Eggman, Sonic falls from the sky into the Mystic Ruins, by an overgrown temple. Chris and Big free Froggy at last and head back with Knuckles and the Emeralds.

In Station Square an Eggman missile lands with two minutes on the clock, and the crowd looks to Tails. Missing Sonic, he remembers how they first met, decides it is time to manage on his own – and cuts the right wire. Knuckles leaves to restore the Master Emerald, and Big and Froggy go home.
