Eggman is ready to stake his claim to Earth. He sends his robot E-23 Missile Wrist marching into Station Square, and the city’s defences can’t slow it down. It is the opening move in his plan for an Eggman Empire.

The first to stand up to it are Tails, Amy and Knuckles, newcomers still finding their feet in the human world – and they come off worse: the Tornado loses its propeller and Amy ends up in the robot’s grip. Then Sonic speeds in. A Ring tossed from the plane by Chris powers him up, the robot lets Amy go, and Sonic tricks E-23 into wrecking its own arm before tearing straight through it.

Armed officers storm the roof, and Tails lowers a ladder to get everyone away. Chris offers them all a home at the mansion; Amy accepts, but Knuckles lets go of the ladder and glides off alone, still blaming Sonic for their exile.
