Argus, once captain of Queen Aleena’s personal guard, is racing to a secret meeting with his Queen when Sleet and Dingo shoot his hovercraft down and haul him off for Robotnik. Close by, the triplets find the wreck. Inside are his keys, his dog tags and an old photograph of the royal babies, which leaves Sonia cooing over how cute she used to be.

A man who knows where the Queen will be is now in Robotnik’s hands, so Sonic, Sonia and Manic set off to spring him before he is fed to the Roboticizer and before Robotnik can squeeze the meeting place out of him.

The chase leads through Robotnik’s defences and into a flooded cavern beneath the city, where fallen rocks block the way out and Swatbots open fire. The siblings turn the water against their pursuers, and Sleet and the Swatbots are swept off their feet while Dingo tries to carry his boss over the shallows. Doug Booth’s script ends with the villains bruised, soaked and squabbling.

The Song: “Have You Got the 411?”

“Have You Got the 411?” borrows the 1990s slang for information, which is exactly what the siblings are after when they go looking for the man who knows where their mother will be.
