Sonic and the Secret Scrolls is episode 5 of Season 1 of Sonic the Hedgehog, the ABC cartoon fans call SatAM, in the order of our original episode guide and the Shout! Factory DVDs. It was the ninth Season 1 episode to air, on 13 November 1993. It was written by Janis Diamond and directed by Dick Sebast.
Synopsis

Sally has a plan, and it has wings: the Freedom Stormer, a home-made plane built to reach the ruined city of Maga in the Great Mountains, where her father once said the legendary Secret Scrolls were hidden. Sonic is sure the rattletrap will never fly, so while Sally, Rotor, Bunnie and Antoine take off by night, he follows on foot.
After a hair-raising take-off and a worse landing – Sonic grabs the trailing rope just before the plane rolls off a cliff – the team works through Maga’s riddles and booby traps, from a stone chair that catapults them over the city wall to a temple where picking the wrong scroll would bring the whole place down. Then Robotnik arrives with Snively and a SWATbot squad, demanding the prize.
Sonic leads the villains to the Breath of Mobius, a tunnel where a ferocious wind erupts at regular intervals. When it blows, Robotnik, Snively and the SWATbots are hurled off a cliff, while Sonic uses a Power Ring to run against the gale. This time Sonic flies home – at the controls – terrifying his friends with stunts, as Robotnik climbs back up vowing revenge.
The Freedom Fighters travel on a mission to find some magical scrolls that will help them in their battle against Robotnik. What will they do when they find Robotnik waiting for them?
