Synopsis

Throbbin Screech’s talk show, Lifestyles of the Very Good, has room for Sonic but not for Robotnik, who finds out from a rejection letter and then from the TV. His answer is to kidnap Screech’s niece and dangle her over lava until the host gives him a slot – and Screech, who cares more about ratings than relatives, needs surprisingly little persuading.
So the programme becomes Lifestyles of the Sick and Twisted, with a bewigged Robotnik promising to catch Sonic on air. He drains a lake to lure the hedgehog into a fish rescue, grabs Tails while Sonic is refilling it, and hangs him over the lava beside the niece. Sonic offers himself in exchange, and Robotnik, naturally, keeps all three.
Sonic’s last request, a make-up artist, turns out to be his way out. Heckuba the poodle is also a locksmith: she unlocks him and the two swap faces, so the “Sonic” the doctor parades on his renamed show comes apart when its nose does. The real Sonic ties up the villains and frees Tails and the niece.
