Synopsis
Eggman’s escape has left the authorities empty-handed, so the President tries bait instead: a fighting tournament with the red Chaos Emerald as first prize. Sonic and his friends sign up, and so do hopefuls from all over Station Square – even the President steps into the ring.
Bout follows bout across the bracket. Eggman’s robot Lucky scrapes through on sheer luck, while Emerl, copying every technique he sees, works his way past one opponent after another and starts to look unbeatable.
Eggman takes the bait at last. Just as Amy refuses to fight Sonic in their round, insisting he would never hurt her, the doctor attacks; Sonic pulls Amy clear and forfeits to chase him, so Amy goes through by default. The tournament carries on without its star, heading for a final that will decide who takes the Emerald home.
