Synopsis

Robotnik is downloading a genius program onto a chip that will make him ten times smarter, while Scratch and Grounder try to lure Sonic into a giant mousetrap baited with a talking Tails doll. It goes the way their traps always go.
The chip goes astray when Hacker, a young computer-whiz friend of Sonic and Tails, gets hold of it. In the scuffle that follows Grounder is smashed to pieces, and when he puts himself back together, the chip ends up inside him. The dimmest robot on Mobius is suddenly a mastermind.
Genius Grounder builds a ray that petrifies Sonic, then starts bossing Robotnik around in his own fortress. With the hedgehog out of action, it is up to Tails and Hacker to outthink the new and improved Grounder and bring Sonic back.
