No Hedgehog Is an Island is episode 27 of Sonic Underground, DiC’s 1999 cartoon about Sonic, Sonia and Manic, the hedgehog triplets of Queen Aleena. It is number 27 in production order – the order TF1 first showed the series in France, where it premiered on 7 April 1999 – and it was the 27th episode to air in the United States, on 5 October 1999. It was written by Mark Edens, and its song is “Learn to Overcome”.
Synopsis
As the Flying Fortress breaks apart, Sleet and Dingo escape with the Chaos Emerald, Robotnik ejects to safety, and the siblings and Knuckles are left to fight their way out of the wreck.
Squabbling over who gets to use the Emerald, Sleet and Dingo drop it and it splits in two. Its chaos energy pours out, setting off earthquakes and disasters across Mobius. Knuckles takes the hedgehogs to his great-grandfather, Athair, for advice.
Athair’s answer is hard to swallow: the only way to save the planet is to make a deal with Robotnik. The siblings shoot their way past a Swatbot ambush and escape in their camper van, but too late they realise that Knuckles has been left behind, holding a glowing canister, and Sleet has spotted him. The story concludes in New Echidna in Town.

“Learn to Overcome” lands just as the heroes are told they will have to work with the enemy.
