Synopsis

Knuckles strikes a bargain with Robotnik: help find and contain the Chaos Emerald before its energy destroys Mobius, and Robotnik’s empire with it. The price is the Sonic Underground. Knuckles agrees only after Robotnik promises to keep the hedgehogs as prisoners rather than roboticize them.
Robotnik lies, of course, and a guilt-ridden Knuckles frees his friends before the Roboticizer can do its work. But a bigger problem has arrived: Dingo has swallowed the Emerald and turned into Chaos Dingo, a monster rampaging across the planet.
Hedgehogs, echidna and dictator are forced into an uneasy team-up to stop him before Mobius is lost. Knuckles clearly has a soft spot for Sonia, and selling her out weighs on him more than anything.
