Sonic’s fear of waterPort MobiusMoby Deep
The Deepest Fear is episode 7 of Sonic Underground, DiC’s 1999 cartoon about Sonic, Sonia and Manic, the hedgehog triplets of Queen Aleena. It is number 7 in production order – the order TF1 first showed the series in France, where it premiered on 27 January 1999 – and it was the seventh episode to air in the United States, on 7 September 1999. It was written by Michael Edens and Mark Edens, and its song is “Face Your Fear”.
Synopsis

In the harbour town of Port Mobius, ships keep disappearing, and the locals blame Moby Deep, a legendary sea monster. Captain Squeege tells the visitors the rest of the story: the frightened townspeople now pay Robotnik to protect them from the beast.
The protection racket smells fishy to the siblings, who suspect that Robotnik is sinking the ships himself. Proving it means going out to sea, and that is a problem for Sonic. The fastest hedgehog alive cannot swim and is terrified of water, and a stormy night-time run-in with something huge and tentacled does not help.
Sonic faces his fear, and the sinkings are traced to Robotnik’s submarine, which the band blasts out of the water. Sleet turns a soaked Dingo into a fish to make their getaway, only to find a real whale on their tails. Before the siblings leave town, they come across a monument sign bearing their mother’s name.
The Song: “Face Your Fear”
“Face Your Fear” spells out the lesson Sonic has to learn before he can head out to sea.
