Synopsis
This one belongs to Shadow. Eggman’s ship comes across a band of resistance fighters being crushed by Pale Bayleaf’s armada, and Shadow, sent out to deal with it, wrecks the battleships and saves a young pilot named Molly. Her comrades on the ruined planet Cascade greet the doctor as a hero, which suits him perfectly.
Molly can’t take her eyes off Shadow, who reminds her of a legendary hero called Black Wind, though he keeps brushing her off. A rebel named Leon sends her, Shadow and Rouge to a laboratory where a fallen “precious stone” is kept. Shadow gets the Chaos Emerald, but Molly finds dynamite instead of the disk she was sent for, and only Shadow’s speed saves her.
Leon has sold Eggman to the Metarex to spare the last of his people, but the Metarex fleet simply abandons the rebels, who lose heart. Molly flies alone at the flagship and is killed; Shadow removes his Limiters and destroys the whole fleet. At sunset, beside Molly’s grave, he hands the Emerald to Rouge.
