The siblings head for the deserts on the edge of Mobius, hoping to win a nomad tribe over to the Resistance, and their van breaks down on the way. The tribesmen rescue them and bring them back to camp, where their leader, Ifyoucan, makes them welcome.

Manic doesn’t trust the chief and goes looking for the truth. He finds it: Ifyoucan has been roboticized, a secret that would get him banished if his people found out. Before Manic can tell anyone, he is captured and carried off, and no one at the camp notices that he has gone.

Sonic and Sonia work out why their brother has vanished and race across the dunes to reach him in time. The episode’s song, “True Blue Friend”, sums up what is at stake: loyalty between people who do not always see eye to eye, and between a tribe and a leader with something to hide.

The Song: “True Blue Friend”

“True Blue Friend” is about loyalty, the theme of an episode in which Manic’s suspicions are right but nobody is there to back him up.
