Drood Henge is episode 11 of Season 2 of Sonic the Hedgehog, the ABC cartoon fans call SatAM, in the order of our original episode guide and the Shout! Factory DVDs. It was the eleventh Season 2 episode to air, on 19 November 1994. It was written by Ben Hurst and directed by Ron Myrick.
Synopsis
Uncle Chuck’s bug in Robotnik’s headquarters reveals a new hunt: Robotnik is after the legendary Deep Power Stones. Sally tries to look up the royal family’s secret about them, only to be locked out by a time-coded seal. Meanwhile, on a training mission, Sonic and Tails stumble on Snively’s dig at Drood Henge, and Tails is captured.
Sonic rescues him and tricks NICOLE into revealing the secret. Joined into one seamless stone, the Deep Power Stones are a source of boundless energy; joined by their jagged edges, they bring destruction. Robotnik already has the first. He must not get the second.
The Freedom Fighters set a trap, convincing Robotnik that they have found the second stone. Sonic destroys it in front of him in the lava springs – but it is a fake. The real stone lies beneath Drood Henge, and Sonic digs it out with his Super Spin. When Sally praises the plan, Sonic reveals whose idea it was: Tails’s. Knothole makes the young fox its newest Freedom Fighter.
Sonic and Tails team up with Princess Sally on a mission to thwart Robotnik’s plans to use the magical Deep Power Stones for his “Doomsday Project”. Sally also encounters the family secret about Drood Henge, and why it is so important.
