Armed with the King’s list, Sonic, Sally and Antoine go looking for the first group on it, the mysterious Wolf Pack. Reaching them means passing through a tunnel said to carry a curse against intruders.

The Wolf Pack’s leader, Lupe, welcomes them and explains that Robotnik has wiped out almost every trace of her people’s culture. Now their land is under attack from a prototype pod from Robotnik’s Doomsday Project, a war machine that seems unstoppable. Sonic and Sally slip into Robotnik’s computer and download the pod’s data from under Snively’s nose.

The plan is to lure the pod onto open ground beneath the storm clouds. Sonic runs through the lightning with the pod on his heels, a Power Ring carries him clear, and a bolt reduces the machine to ash. The test pod, though, is tiny next to the ones Robotnik is building. Lupe contacts the other leaders on the list, and in Knothole the united Freedom Fighters, Ari among them, swear to stop the Doomsday Project.

Sonic, Sally, and Antoine finally make contact with The Wolf-Pack, another Freedom Fighter group, and encounter one of Robotnik’s new deadly Doomsday Pods for the first time. After a long but courageous battle against the machine, the Freedom Fighters and Wolf-Pack are successful, and link up with the other freedom fighter groups on King Acorn’s list. This would later be adapted as Issue 113 in Archie’s Sonic the Hedgehog comics.
