Synopsis
Chris’ reunion with his friends is cut short when an exhausted Sonic collapses. At Cream’s house, Cosmo explains what the Metarex want: Planet Eggs, the life source of every world, without which a planet slowly dies. They have already destroyed her own home and her family, and she breaks down in tears. Chris, meanwhile, works out that six months here have been six years on Earth.
Everyone except a suspicious Knuckles agrees to take the fight into space, aboard the starship Tails has been building, the Blue Typhoon. With the Chaos Emeralds gone it needs the Master Emerald for power, and Knuckles only comes round after some rough persuasion from Amy, Cream and Cosmo.
Before the ship is ready, another Metarex attacks. Tails answers with the Blue Typhoon’s main cannon, the Sonic Driver, which uses Sonic himself as the cannonball, and Chris catches him in the Hyper Tornado when he falls. Cream hugs her mother goodbye, and the crew launches – with Eggman’s gang following in their own ship.
