Synopsis

The last season opens in orbit, six months after Sonic’s return home. A worn-out Super Sonic has torn through a fleet of robots, the Metarex, when their sword-wielding leader Dark Oak demands the Chaos Emeralds. Sonic’s reply is Chaos Control, which flings all seven gems to the far corners of the galaxy, and he drops back to his planet as plain blue Sonic. Dark Oak sends a single robot down to fetch the world’s Planet Egg.
That night Tails, Amy and Cream are counting shooting stars from a hilltop when one almost lands on them. Next to the crashed ship lies an unconscious girl who looks part plant, and they carry her to Cream’s house. Sonic comes round somewhere far stranger: a bed in Eggman’s base, where the doctor brought him after finding him on the beach.
The girl, Cosmo, has an urgent message for Sonic, but the Metarex robot lands on Angel Island first. It shrugs off Knuckles and the X-Tornado’s missiles, tears the Planet Egg out of the ground and escapes. On Earth, where six years have passed, an 18-year-old Chris steps through the gate he has built – and arrives as his 12-year-old self.
