Three hedgehogs grow up without knowing the others exist. Sonia has piano lessons and fine manners in the house of the wealthy Lady Windermere; Manic, snatched from his doorstep as a baby, learns to pick pockets from the thief Farrell; and Sonic is raised by Bernie and Estelle until the Swatbots come for them and his Uncle Chuck takes him in.

The reason is a prophecy. Queen Aleena had just given birth to the triplets when Robotnik seized Mobotropolis, renamed it Robotropolis and outlawed the royal family, and the Oracle of Delphius told her that she and her children would one day defeat him as the Council of Four – if she let them go. So she left each baby on a different doorstep.

Years later Sonic is blowing up Robotnik’s factories for the Resistance, and the doctor hires the bounty hunters Sleet and Dingo to find the saboteur. The Oracle tells Sonic he is a prince with a brother and sister to find, guided by the song in his heart; his glowing medallion leads him to them, but their guardians are roboticized before they can be saved. The Oracle hands the reunited three a map, and the journey begins.

The Song: “Someday”

“Someday” is the song of the whole series: a promise that the scattered family will one day be together again.
