Synopsis

Nelson has found the perfect wedding-anniversary present for Lindsey: a ring the jewellers have made from the purple Chaos Emerald. He invites Chris and his friends to Filmdom City to watch him surprise her, and Tails loads three of the gang’s Emeralds into the X-Tornado for the trip. At Area 99, meanwhile, scientists unveil Project Beetle, a robot built to fight Eggman.
Rouge and Topaz, who saw Nelson at the jeweller’s, are after the gem, and so is Eggman. The surprise turns into a free-for-all across the film studios, with Sonic, Tails and Knuckles – who happens to be holidaying in the city – chased by Eggman and his robots through a dinosaur set, an outer-space set and an ocean set.
Eggman’s robot Weazo corners Sonic with its flamethrowers until Knuckles smashes a glass tank and the flood shorts it out. Eggman still escapes with the Emerald, so Nelson’s present is gone, but the anniversary is a happy one all the same, and Knuckles decides to come back to Station Square. Rouge, left with nothing, vows to get the Emeralds whatever it takes.
